The merge of A-I in Art

Artificial Art does exists, and artificial intelligence affects how art is seen. However how will artificial intelligence affect artists in Jamaica?
Differentiating how art is created by artificial intelligence (AI) as opposed to the actual human artists comes down to experience. Artificial Intelligence artwork refers to art generated with the assistance of AI, but an artist creates and develops his art based on a number of factors such as events, experiences. Back in 1950s AI was introduced. Today the realtionship has evolved and merged as artists have been known to explore and experiment with technology along the way. It is exciting to incorporate AI into creating art, as with AI suggestions are made and the technique odf style transfer can be an exciting exploration. However the threat of robots being creative is one point for consideration. So it comes down to creativity and imagination after all. Robots can never outdo the imagination of humans anytime soon. Even after years of input of varied creative and imagiative styles and suggestions. Manking by nature is built to expand, renew and extend what they are exposed to. A mark AI cannot attain to.

Artificial Intelligence may be a threat to Jamaica?

Artificial intelligence, under the guise of technological advancement will change our lives forever. One definition is that Artifical Intelligence is 'the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks normally requiring human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages.' Simply put artificial intelligence although created my humans, is actually demonstrated by machines as opposed to intelligence naturally demonstrated by humans and animals. In reality 'living things' are being replaced, becoming insignificant, even lifeless as lifeless objects come to life.
Jobs and skills as we know it will become redundant. Imagine robots creating art, and robots diagnosing humans first then eventually themselves erasing the need for medical doctors. Several jobs are therefore at risk as the selected rich determines that the world is overpopulated certainly by useless peresons who do nothing but eat sleep and make trouble. Think about it - the number of jobs fast being taken over by robots and machines is growing, warning of the need to ultimately be creative in the choices we make starting with how we educate ourselves. It's worth reading the article in Forbes magazine, managers and top level workers are loosing their jobs quicker than lower level employees.

Richest Artists across the world

I am browsing the internet and I find that painters are listed among the richest of the creatives overall. Damion Hirst opted against seling his work in a traditional gallery and can smile today as he is worth millions. Then there are tattoo artistes who earn US2000.00 per tattoo and have long lines waiting. Among the richest creatives of the world are:-
RICHEST FASHION DESIGNER: Giorgio Armani of Armani Company worth $9.6 Billion RICHEST AUTHOR/ WRITER: .K. Rowling worth 1 billion Richest musician: Kanye West worth $2 billion Richest painter: John Currin worth $1.4 billion RICHEST CHEF: Kimbal Musk worth $500 Million RICHEST DANCER: Michael Flatley worth $350 million Jamaica's Jimmy Cliff according to at least 3 sources is worth $10 billion.

Jamaica Sunsets in demand in photograph and paintings

All over the world the sun sets and rises again. I have never known of any other place that sunsets are in high demand as Jamaica. I also questioned why more persons were requesting paintings of Jamaica sunsets especially of me. I came across this is sunset photographed by Barry Groves, and with the usual tree from the palm family which has become almost a signature of Jamaican sunsets.
Its any ones guess where in Jamaica this was done. The way the sun peeps through the leaves and glows from behind the waters is unique to Jamaica for may persons. For others its all about the colours created when that vibrant tropical sun waves across the Caribbean Sea creating orange and yellow hues and more. Someone who keeps coming back for larger and larger Jamaica sunsets painted by me finally explained they made her clients at a nursing home happy. I suddenly realised sunsets are not cliche, but through painting one you can send so many messages across the seas to persons you may never meet. I wind up painting more now myself. I have a new understanding of my own expressions as Barrington Watson's telling me that my use of colour was exceptionally strong and unique before he died now registers in volumes. Then he was looking at one of my blue sunsets which actually got stolen from a gallery in Florida. Until it got stolen I didnt think much of it because I wondered if anyone would have loved it enough to buy it. BUT someone actually stole it! Then someone else ordered a green, totally green sunset and when I saw how it enhanced the decor in their home where everything was hues of green I was amazed. These are good reflections as I now understand sunsets are not cliche. So now I understand the demand the increase for painted sunsets. When I go again to write about 'sunset' artists along Jamaica's North coast who specialise in a variety of sunsets, I will make sure to tell them.. Keep painting regardless of your storm because you never know whose life youll brighten.

Clear the myth about art education

No. Artists do not do art because they fail at academics in other words they fail in the system built on the process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, especially at a school or university. Au Contraire real artists make the best students. In my opinion everyone is a natural artist and each person creates art at some point. Whether you identify with your creative side, or your talent is an entire diffrent matter. It becomes a matter of the level you attain and express.
It is important to remember skills are critical to one's growth, development and peace of mind. TRuh be told some of the greatest persons appreciated on this earth were artists themselves. Who would have figured that the colour wheel would have been invented by a scientist Isaac Newton. Have you ever thought on the relation of the colour wheel to nature's rainbow. To improve the world we live in a balance between academics and skill sets is a must. Ask yourself however What is academics versus art. In today's society one has to have skill and talent to be admitted to art school. You learn technique.. to develop your talent or skill but never to get one. Those who end up at an actual school must ask themselves too if they are not taught from a theoretical perspective.

Thoughts to ponder - 'Crocs Day' in Jamaican schools

Jamaica is a country of creatives. How is it then that we are having a 'Crocs Day for children islandwide whereby children must wear crocs sandals. The fact is our parents end up spend thousands of dollars on crocs imported from China. The strongest slippers are made by average shoemakers mostly Rastarians from locally made leather from goat or cow hide.
Further a pair costs $4,000 average. How comes we send our children to buy Chinese crocs for exuberalnt fees. I asked a couple of parents about the cost of their stlish crocs and was shocked to hear that even $10,000.00 was spent on a pair.
